The Gathering Farm
The image we have in Revelation 21 is of a new earth where God has come to dwell with human beings. In it, we see the consummation of Christ’s work of reconciliation in three relationships: (1) between God and humanity, (2) between human beings and each other, and (3) between human beings and the earth. As God’s Church, we are called to be a sign, instrument, and foretaste of this coming reconciliation which we name the kingdom of God. What would such ministry look like in a local...

Rev. Matt Johnson, pastor at The Community, a New Church Start in the Kentucky Conference,...
Cynthiana Church Members Help with East Bernstadt Tornado Cleanup
After the tornados caused so much damage in many locations throughout Kentucky, I too had the thought many of Kentuckians had, and that was, “What can I do to help?” On Tuesday, March 6, my wife, Sharon, was coming back home from a trip to Corbin and saw firsthand some of the damage along Interstate 75 just north of London. When she came home, Sharon told me of the damage and how we should do something.
The next day after our Prayer Breakfast at First UMC Cynthiana, five of us...

"The Light of Christ on the Hill": Ida Spence Mission
I can't tell you the exact moment I fell in love with the Ida Spence UM Mission but that's exactly what has happened. It is incredible to see children pouring through the doors Sunday afternoons for children's worship. Just last Sunday we had over...
